The days websites could do without personalizing their content are now over. With so many sites competing for the user’s attention, it is vital to offer something designed for a specific audience.
Now we’ll show you how easy it is to target a group of people on your website by creating a condition rule with the Personalization plugin by Flowcraft.
First, you pick a name for your condition, which will prevent you from confusing it with the other conditions you will create later on.
Then you go down to “Condition rules”. This is where you pick the characteristics of the user you are targeting.
For example, let’s say it is July 4th and you want to congratulate your American friends without bothering the other visitors on your website. Go to “Condition rules” and choose “user is from” from the drop down menu. A second drop down menu will pop up and allow you to choose the United States from a list of countries.
The next section is called “When condition is met”. Here you place the content you want your American users to see on your website. Choose “Show HTML” and write a text or upload a picture.
The next section is titled “When condition is not met”. Here you can choose to display something else to visitors from countries different from the United States or simply not show anything.
If you want to track how your July 4th campaign is going, you simply check the box that says “Turn on Google Analytics Tracking” and a new event will be created for it in your website’s Google Analytics.
When all is set, click “Publish” at the upper right corner of the screen. A new short code is generated.
Copy and paste it into your post, page or text widget content. That’s it! Now you can move on to create more conditions with the Personalization plugin for WordPress.
